ANNOUNCING THE 2023-24 SEASON!

FAQs

What if I can't use my tickets?

Subscribers may exchange their tickets for any other subscription concert within the same season (not for Magic of Christmas or special events). Please arrange for any exchanges at least 24 hours before the performance. Subscribers may also turn their tickets back for a tax-donation receipt for the value of the tickets. Tickets must be turned back at least 24 hours prior to the performance.

If you are not a subscriber and cannot use your tickets, we encourage you to give them to a friend or colleague to enjoy. You can also inquire at local social service organizations such as Learning Works or Boys & Girls Club whether they might be able to pass your tickets along to a family who might not otherwise be able to come to the PSO.

All sales are final and refunds are not available. Artists and programs are subject to change without notice, as is your schedule. In the unlikely event that a concert is canceled, ticketholders will be notified with their options including refund information.

I can't find my tickets!

Tickets can be reprinted with a valid photo ID. Please allow extra time before the concert for the Box Office to help you.

Can I bring my children or grandchildren?

It depends on the concert and on the age (and attention span) of the kids. Many standard-length classical concerts require an attention span that is difficult for youngsters to maintain, but some children enjoy the experience of hearing and seeing the full symphony orchestra.

If your child causes a disturbance for other patrons, an usher may ask you to take him or her outside the auditorium. Re-entry is at the discretion of management.

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter the theater. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian and must have a ticket for a seat adjacent to the adult.

Do you offer student or senior discounts?

Full-time students and children under 18 are eligible for single-ticket discounts in most seating areas. Student Rush Happy Hour is announced for select concerts via our Facebook page. Senior citizens over the age of 65 are entitled to a discount in most seating areas. Please call PortTIX at (207) 842-0800 to learn more.

Groups of 10 or more are also eligible for discounts and other great benefits. For more information, visit our Group Tickets page or contact Kayla Adelman at (207)773-6128 x301.

How long are concerts?

Most concerts are two hours, including a 15-20 minute intermission. Any significant exceptions to this will be noted on the individual concert page on our web site.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code! Most people will be wearing business clothes or slightly dressy casual clothes, but you’ll see everything from khakis to cocktail dresses. Some people enjoy dressing up and making a special event out of their PSO concert experience, others prefer to relax and focus on their ears rather than their outfits. Anything that makes you feel comfortable is fine.

Can I purchase a gift certificate?

Gift certificates are available to purchase through our box office here.
