FOR GOOGLE CHROMECAST FROM COMPUTER TO TV:
STEP 1: Connect your computer to the same Wi-Fi network as your Smart TV.
STEP 2: After logging in to www.portlandsymphonytv.com on your computer using the Google Chrome browser, click on the video you want to watch.
STEP 3: On the video page, open the Chrome menu in the upper right corner of the window (or the menu) and select CAST.
STEP 4: Select your Chromecast source (consider selecting Chrome Tab) and your Chromecast destination. Chromecast will then be connected and video will start playing on your TV.
To disconnect from Chromecast, click the blue icon next to your casting destination.
If there are any issues with the Chromecast stream, try setting the video to a lower quality.
FOR GOOGLE CHROMECAST FROM ANDROID PHONE TO TV:
To cast your entire Android phone screen* to your TV, please follow these steps:
STEP 1: First, make sure your device is running Android 5.0 or higher.
STEP 2: Connect your Android phone to the same Wi-Fi network as your Smart TV.
STEP 3: Turn off ‘Power Saving Mode’ on your Android device.
STEP 4: Important: The ‘Microphone’ permission in the Google Play Services app needs to be turned on to successfully use the ‘Cast Screen/Audio’ feature with Chromecast. To turn on microphone permissions:
- On your Android device, tap Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Apps > Google Play
- Services > Permissions.
- Look for “Microphone” and slide it On.
STEP 6: Open the Google Home app and go to the Account tab.
STEP 7: Scroll down and tap on Mirror device.
STEP 8: Tap on CAST SCREEN/AUDIO.
STEP 9: Select your Chromecast device.
STEP 10: Then follow the instructions for how to watch online on your phone via the web browser in the above dropdown to start watching.
* Please note, at this time, it is not possible to Chromecast via a mobile web browser
