Teachers

As an educator, you know that a new perspective can inspire the fresh insight and enthusiasm that are the keys to nurturing new learning. The PSO does just that, maximizing the power of music by using it as both the subject and vehicle for innovative education. Our programs span the complete pre-K through high school grade gamut. Many are enhanced with teaching materials featuring curriculum connections to State of Maine Learning Results and the National Common Core Arts Standards (NCCAS). Whether making a kinetic KinderKonzert connection with pre-schoolers, or offering high school students pre-concert access to our Open Dress Rehearsals, the PSO can light the minds and smiles that make learning fun!

Bring your class to a youth concert

This year’s Youth Concert will feature a performance of Carnival of the Animals: Remix, an engaging and reimagined version of Saint-Saëns’ famous work. Featuring local artists including a rapper, a Native American flute player, and an erhu player, this interactive daytime performance is perfect for all elementary students (K-4).
