The Portland Conservatory
The Portland Conservatory of Music is a nonprofit community music school that educates community members of all ages, abilities and financial levels through musical instruction and concert performances.
The Porltand Conservatory offers private and group lessons and teach all instruments for the orchestra, in addition to such instruments as ukulele, banjo, and fiddle. They also offer the following specialized programs: Early Childhood Education, Youth Choral Groups (Girl Singers of Maine and the Boy Singers of Maine), College Prep, and Jazz Studies. On the performance side they offer a free Noonday Concert series in downtown Portland, Dimensions in Jazz series, and Early Music and Back Cove Contemporary Music festivals.
240 Strings
By providing free classical music education, 240 Strings cultivates young minds and hearts, while building community along the way.
240 Strings offers free private and ensemble lessons 30 weeks per year in violin, cello and piano. Instrument and books are provided.

The Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra
The Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra is made up of more than 70 musicians, ranging in age from 11 to 18. Established in 1942, the PYSO has grown into a pre-professional program of high caliber, which challenges its members with a diverse repertory of orchestral literature.
