Fantastic Beasts and Where to Hear Them | April 6, 2025

AGES 4-10 | DEADLINE TO ENTER IS March 14, 2025

 

Portland Symphony would like to invite our youngest listeners to share their creative talents by entering our art challenge! The winning entry will be featured as our next Discovery Concert’s program cover at “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Hear Them”. Both the winner and runner up participants will receive four tickets to the PSO Discovery Concert “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Hear Them”.

 

Our drawing theme is…..

Create your own mythical creature! Does it have wings like a dragon, glowing horns like a reindeer, or magical powers like a firebird? Draw it in its magical world and give it a name!

YOUR SUBMISSION SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • The full name, age, and grade of the artist.
  • The full name of the artist’s parent or guardian and their email address.

 

SUBMISSION FAQ’S:

  • Please use one vertical 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper.
  • All drawings will be judged on originality and interpretation of theme.
  • Entries must be postmarked by March 14, 2025.
  • Submissions will not be returned.
  • The winning entry will be notified via email and announced by March 28, 2025 on PSO social media.

By submitting, parents/guardians agree that submissions may be displayed during the PSO Discovery concert, on the Discovery Program, and on PSO social media.

Bring your class to a youth concert

Coming in 2025… The Portland Symphony Orchestra partners with Carnegie Hall to present Link Up: The Orchestra Sings! Link Up is a fully participatory, school-day concert program. Students will fill Merrill Auditorium to sing, play recorders, move, and listen along with the symphony from their seats. This program is designed for students in grades 3-5 but all are welcome and encouraged to participate!
