When did you start playing for the PSO? And where else do you perform?
Started PSO in 1993
Also Principal Clarinetist of Boston Lyric Opera and regular performer with Odyssey Opera, Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), Boston Philharmonic

Where did you grow up? McMurray, PA

Where do you currently live? Ayer, MA

Family, Pets, Kids: One daughter, Kayla, 11.

Describe a typical day. Wake at 5:30 am. That’s about the only constant!

What is your favorite PSO memory to date? Performing with Renee Fleming.

What is the most frequently asked question when you tell someone that you play for the PSO? How long does it take you to get there??

What is your favorite music? What are you currently listening to? My favorite music to play is opera, but for listening I have a pretty eclectic assortment from popular music to classical.

What are your hobbies? Cycling, hiking, cooking, spending time with my very active daughter.

What/where are your favorite places to eat in Portland? My favorite thing about dining in Portland is that there are so many great restaurants, so I try to explore the variety and not get too locked into favorites.

Bring your class to a youth concert

Coming in 2025… The Portland Symphony Orchestra partners with Carnegie Hall to present Link Up: The Orchestra Sings! Link Up is a fully participatory, school-day concert program. Students will fill Merrill Auditorium to sing, play recorders, move, and listen along with the symphony from their seats. This program is designed for students in grades 3-5 but all are welcome and encouraged to participate!
