Where did you grow up? Bowling Green, OH

Where do you currently live? South Paris, ME

What instrument do you play? Cello

Educational background: Curtis Institute and graduate work at Indiana University

Began with the PSO: In 1981

What non-PSO musical activities do you participate in? I was with Sebago/Long Lake Chamber Music Festival for 20 years, and was Director for 10 years. Something that’s a real passion for me is playing solo works, and I’ve been going to Paris (France) and Normandy every year to perform recitals. I have a tour to Japan coming up as well.

What is your favorite music? What are you currently listening to? Classical is my favorite, Bach and Beethoven. Also Brahms, Mendelssohn, Mahler, Debussy, I like listening to a lot of different composers. I listen to a lot of jazz too.

Any non-musical hobbies? I’m a passionate hiker and mountain climber, I love sailing, housebuilding, gardening, landscape architecture. I’ve done a lot of design work, both for homes and landscapes.

Do you teach? If so, how can people get in touch with you? I teach in Rockland one day a week at Woodsound Studio, and privately from my home in South Paris. I also do some teaching in the Portland area. (207) 749-2855 for more information.
