Harp

What is your educational background?
New England Conservatory of Music, Boston University, Boston Conservatory and Bucharest National University of Music

When did you start playing for the PSO? And where else do you perform?
In 2016. I also perform with the Boston Pops Orchestras, Boston Lyric Opera and various chamber music groups in the Boston area.
Additionally, I invest much of my time in teaching as an Associate Professor of Harp at Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music

Where did you grow up?
Eastern Europe, Moldova and Romania

Where do you currently live?
Boston, MA (since 2002)

What is your favorite PSO memory to date?
Winning the audition for PSO principal harp!

What is the most frequently asked question when you tell someone that you play for the PSO?
How do you get your harp to Portland?

What is your favorite music? What are you currently listening to?
Jazz. I have it on the radio all the time.

What are your hobbies?
Reading, traveling, caring for my houseplants.

What or who has been your greatest influence in life?
My harp mentors have been great influences in my life and shaped my future.

What is your favorite thing about Maine?
The calm pace of life and the food!

Bring your class to a youth concert

This year’s Youth Concert will feature a performance of Carnival of the Animals: Remix, an engaging and reimagined version of Saint-Saëns’ famous work. Featuring local artists including a rapper, a Native American flute player, and an erhu player, this interactive daytime performance is perfect for all elementary students (K-4).
