Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)
We are partnering with the Portland Museum of Art to bring you Miyazaki’s beloved Howl’s Moving Castle on the big screen the morning before our first “Music of Studio Ghibli” concert! The screening will be introduced by the weekend’s guest conductor Morihiko Nakahara, and is free for PSO concert ticket-holders.

Sophie, a quiet hat shop worker, has her life upended when she is cursed by the Witch of the Waste into an old woman’s body. Seeking to break the spell, she boards the magical moving castle of the mysterious wizard Howl. Sophie finds herself embroiled in a fantastical adventure and a dangerous war of sorcery, forcing her to protect both herself and Howl.
