PSO presents Tchaikovsky’s Suite from Swan Lake, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances and Glazunov’s Violin Concerto with guest violinist Chee-Yun in final concert of the 17-18 season
Who: The Portland Symphony Orchestra, led by PSO Music Director finalist Daniel Meyer with guest violinist Chee-Yun. Chee-Yun performs regularly with the world’s foremost orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, and the Toronto, Houston, Seattle, Pittsburgh and National symphony orchestras. She was the winner of the 1989 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the 1990 Avery Fisher Career Grant.
What: This Sunday Classical Concert welcomes violinist Chee-Yun for her first performance with the Portland Symphony Orchestra. The concert opens with one of Tchaikovsky’s best known works for ballet, the Suite from Swan Lake, before moving on to Glazunov’s Violin Concerto. The concert concludes with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.
