A Symphony Orchestra is a community of instruments that all have unique strengths and weaknesses. This program will do a deep dive in to each section to explore the sights, sounds, and musicians of each instrument family at the PSO. Join guest Conductor Rei Hotada, Music Director of the Fresno Philharmonic, as she guides the PSO through performances of works by composers like Gabrielli, Mussorgsky, Bach, and Beethoven.

Coming in 2026…The Portland Symphony Orchestra partners with Carnegie Hall to present Link Up: The Orchestra Moves! Link Up is a fully participatory, school-day concert program. Students will fill Merrill Auditorium to sing, play recorders, move, and listen along with the symphony from their seats. This program is designed for students in grades 3-6 but all are welcome and encouraged to participate!
